ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Zirkzee has joined United from Bologna this summer, while Mainoo was central to England's run to the Euro 2024 final, where they were beaten by Spain. To get there, the Three Lions beat his new team-mate's Dutch side in the semi-final. The pair are on holiday in Los Angeles – albeit separately – and United are also in the USA. They face Arsenal this weekend but neither player will be involved.

THE EXPLANATION
Mainoo and Zirkzee have each been granted extended leave after both players reached the last-four of the European Championship. Of course, England made the final, and the Daily Mail reports that both players are expected back in training the week before the Community Shield on August 10; United will play Manchester City at Wembley.
The pair happened to choose LA as their holiday destination but they won't be joining their teammates, who are currently hard at work getting ready for the campaign.
